How to Find Jobs in Kigali Without Paying to Apply

Check Rwandan employers and official portals before sharing documents or following a vacancy link.

The most reliable vacancy is one you can trace to its employer. Start with the organisation's careers page and the exact role. Check the location, qualifications, deadline and application route before uploading a CV. Kigali job posts travel quickly through messaging groups, but a forwarded image can remain in circulation long after a vacancy closes.

Where to start

Rwanda's official Kora platform helps jobseekers explore opportunities. MIFOTRA describes Kora as a job-matching service and separately identifies its public-service recruitment portal for civil-service applications. They are useful starting points, not a reason to skip the employer notice. MIFOTRA's platform announcement also identifies the professional internship portal.

Verify a listing in five steps

Find the employer's own website. Match the title, reference, deadline and location to the post you saw. Check whether the application is through a portal, form or published email address. Read restrictions such as professional registration or language requirements. Finally, save the original URL and your submission confirmation.

Never pay a person who promises a shortlist or a “guaranteed” placement. The ILO's fair recruitment principles say workers and jobseekers should not bear recruitment fees. Verify any unusual instruction with the employer through contact details on its official site, not the phone number in a suspicious message.

Build a small shortlist of suitable jobs each week. A tailored application that answers the actual requirements is more valuable than sending one generic CV to every advert.
