Government and UN Jobs in Rwanda: How to Apply Safely
Use MIFOTRA and official UN portals, then follow the full instructions for each opening.

Rwandan civil-service recruitment and UN recruitment use different systems. For a public post, begin at the official MIFOTRA e-recruitment portal. Its published guidance asks applicants to create an account, complete their profile and read the job description and required skills before choosing “Apply Now.” Check the current portal for active dates; an old search result may show an advert whose deadline has passed.
Where to start
Before you apply, record the institution, role, grade or reference, duty station, deadline and required qualifications. Prepare education and work-history details that match your documents. Do not apply merely because a headline says “government jobs”: a notice may be for a particular profession, contract or applicant group.
For UN Secretariat roles, the UN Careers how-to-apply page starts from the individual job description. Other UN agencies, funds and programmes can publish on their own official sites, as the UN overview explains. Read whether a Rwanda duty-station role is locally or internationally recruited, and check language, education and experience requirements.
Keep the process under your control
Save the full advert and the confirmation after submitting. Review your status by typing the official portal address yourself. If you receive an interview or assessment message, compare its role reference and sender with the original application. The UN states that it does not request payment at any stage. A fee for a public or UN shortlist is not a normal shortcut.
Give evidence in your answers: what problem you faced, what action you took and what result followed. Accurate, role-specific information is stronger than a long generic statement about motivation.
